This recipe has so many layers of flavors resulting from the wonderful combination of ingredients. Allow to chill overnight so the flavors can meld.
Lay bacon on a foil-lined sheet pan.
Bake bacon at 350 degrees F. in the regular oven or 375 degrees F. in a convection oven for 30 minutes or until crispy.
While bacon is cooking, chop broccoli into small bite-sized pieces. Combine broccoli, carrot, onion, golden raisins, cheddar cheese, almonds and sunflower seeds together in a large bowl.
Mix together mayonnaise, white wine vinegar and sugar (optional) to make the dressing. Pour over salad and add crumbled bacon.
Toss all ingredients until well mixed. Allow salad to chill several hours or overnight for flavors to meld. Savor the flavor!
