This is a great recipe for French Toast because the sugar on the outside caramelizes to make it truly delicious! Great for breakfast, brunch, supper or anytime! This recipe lives up to its name!
Melt butter on a griddle or in a heavy skillet. Place skillet over medium heat. Combine 6 tablespoons sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon on a plate. Set aside.
Mix eggs, milk, 3/4 teaspoon sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and vanilla in a shallow bowl. Dip bread in mixture, coating both sides.
Dredge both sides in cinnamon-sugar mixture, shaking off excess. Brown bread on both side on griddle (or in skillet), cooking about 5 minutes on each side or until nicely browned.
Serve immediately with maple syrup or dust with powdered sugar and serve with fruit topping.
