Wheat germ adds nutritional value to these cookies, making them a bit different than the usual peanut butter cookie.


Ingredients

  • 1 Cup
    All-purpose Flour
  • 1 Cup
    Wheat Germ
  • 1/4 Cup
    Rolled Oats
  • 1 Teaspoon
    Baking Soda
  • 1/4 Teaspoon
    Salt
  • 3/4 Cups
    Butter
  • 1/2 Cup
    Peanut Butter
  • 1 Cup
    Brown Sugar
  • 1
    Egg
  • 1 Teaspoon
    Vanilla Extract
  • Granulated Sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
    Mix the flour, wheat germ, oats, baking soda and salt in a mixing bowl.

  2. Cream the butter, peanut butter, brown sugar and egg until fluffy.

  3. Stir in the vanilla and the dry ingredients.

  4. Shape level tablespoons of dough in balls and arrange on ungreased baking sheets.

  5. Flatten the balls to about 1/4-inch thickness with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar.

  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly browned. Remove the cookies from the sheets to wire racks to cool.
