A family favorite holiday bar cookie, filled with chocolate chips and nuts to delight your taste buds!


Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 Cups
    All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon
    Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon
    Salt
  • 2/3 Cups
    Butter
  • 16 Ounces
    Brown Sugar
  • 3
    Eggs
  • 1 Teaspoon
    Vanilla extract
  • 1 Cup
    Nuts, chopped
  • 6 Ounces
    Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  1. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Melt butter and add brown sugar. Mix well and cool slightly. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.

  2. Add vanilla. Add dry ingredients, nuts and chocolate chips.

  3. Bake Congo Squares in a 9" x 13" greased baking pan at 350 degrees F. for 35-40 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
